While my dad was dying in 2007, I took pictures of him and my family. I’ve always wanted to do something with those pictures, to share them, but it seemed like it might be crass or exploitative of Dad’s memory and of my own grief. Just looking at the contact sheets makes me feel conflicted.
Then this morning I stumbled across Phillip Toledano’s microsite (and now book) Days With My Father. These pictures are not crass.

I don’t think it would be crass to honor your father like this, I think it would be beautiful and fitting. I think you should do it, it would be an awesome way to show your love for him.
